Community Involvement

Sandy Spring Builders is a proactive community builder. We sponsor schools and non-profits throughout the area (Bethesda Elementary, Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, Somerset Elementary, Westland Middle School, and more). We built a school library pro-bono at the Abram Simon School in a very poor section of Southeast Washington. We were the builders and developers of the Shirley Povich Baseball Field at Cabin John Park which is enjoyed by thousands of Montgomery County baseball fans yearly, and we helped restore two youth baseball fields in the Washington area.

We support and work for Habitat for Humanity, and have given both money and time to many community non-profit organizations including News Literacy Project, Rebuilding Together Montgomery, and the

Children’s Inn at NIH, just to name a few. Sandy Spring Builders has been a sponsor and supporter of the Bethesda Green initiative

We are politically active and are environmentally-conscious builders who live, eat and work amongst our neighbors. With our enthusiastic team at Sandy Spring Builders, we actively participate in all endeavors from Habitat for Humanity Build days to the Somerset Elementary 8k!

We co-founded Renewing Montgomery to improve the dialogue between builders and neighbors during construction in established neighborhoods. In 2011 we became proud partners of the Bethesda Farmers Market and Bethesda Cares. We believe in being a part of our community… we believe in giving back to our community.
